LambdaTest, a cloud-based software testing platform, has secured $38 million in a Series D funding round. The investment, led by Avataar Ventures and supported by Qualcomm Ventures, brings the company’s total funding to $108 million.
LambdaTest offers a cloud platform that enables companies to test their applications across more than 5,000 browser and operating system combinations. This eliminates the need for expensive, in-house testing setups and allows businesses to quickly check if their software functions correctly across various environments. The company also provides access to a large device lab for testing purposes.
The funding comes at a time when software testing is facing new challenges due to the rise of AI-generated code. A survey of over 1,600 enterprise teams by LambdaTest revealed that only 23% of testing efforts are dedicated to planning and authoring tests, with much of the remaining time spent on tasks like fixing broken tests, debugging, and setting up environments.
To address these challenges, LambdaTest introduced the KaneAI platform, described as an “AI Native QA Agent-as-a-Service.” This platform aims to automate many of the time-consuming tasks associated with software testing. According to LambdaTest, KaneAI can reduce manual effort in generating test scripts by 40% to 70%.
Asad Khan, CEO and co-founder of LambdaTest, explained that KaneAI offers a new approach to quality assurance (QA), enabling teams to test more efficiently with less manual work. He emphasized that the integration with LambdaTest’s cloud platform gives the solution scalability.
In addition to KaneAI, LambdaTest offers its HyperExecute platform, which the company claims can run tests up to 70% faster than traditional cloud grids, with 2.5 times faster test resolution and 60% quicker error detection.
LambdaTest also features tools like flaky test identification, which PWC reports has reduced time spent on error reporting and analysis by 40%. Its test intelligence system includes auto error categorization, smart analytics, automatic retries for failed tests, and faster feedback through test reordering.
Quinn Li, Senior Vice President at Qualcomm Ventures, highlighted that as AI applications become more common, continuous testing powered by AI automation is key to speeding up release cycles and improving CI/CD pipeline efficiency. He expressed excitement about supporting LambdaTest’s AI-driven testing solutions.
LambdaTest competes with other software testing platforms such as BrowserStack and SauceLabs. The company plans to use the new funding to expand its market presence and enhance its technology offerings.
Since its launch in 2017, LambdaTest has served over 15,000 customers, including Fortune 500 and G2000 companies in sectors like financial services, insurance, travel, retail, and healthcare. To date, users have conducted more than 1.2 billion tests on the platform.
