Narada AI is pioneering an enterprise AI assistant that doesn’t just interact with work applications but can execute tasks across multiple tools simultaneously. Based on research from UC Berkeley, this startup aims to bring unique productivity capabilities to businesses.

Operating in stealth mode for two years, Narada AI officially launched at TechCrunch Disrupt 2024, showcasing its assistant's capabilities. Its foundational technology stems from co-founders Kurt Keutzer and Amir Gholami's research on "LLM Compilers," which enable AI systems to manage diverse functions concurrently. This research laid the groundwork for Narada’s AI assistant, which stands out from general-purpose AI chatbots by focusing specifically on enterprise application functionality.

Narada’s CEO, Dave Park, notes that the team developed a proprietary AI model tailored to handle productivity tasks. With a background in computer science and years in enterprise sales, Park views Narada’s ability to access websites without APIs as a competitive advantage. This flexibility allows the assistant to interact with various applications, even those without direct API support, a feature they’ve termed "Web Redemption."

In practical use, Narada’s assistant automates tasks across several platforms, improving daily workflows by handling email drafting, calendar management, meeting notes, and web searches. The assistant operates in a browser chat window and can draft email responses, schedule meetings, and locate information across platforms like SAP and Salesforce, saving time on routine tasks. For example, users can prompt it to draft emails, and it will generate a complete message, including relevant details and contact information, directly in the user’s email client.

The technology behind Narada’s assistant combines traditional backend API usage with a front-end system that mimics user interactions by clicking, scrolling, and typing within web interfaces. This setup enables Narada to interact with applications without needing direct API integrations, which is especially useful for navigating applications like HubSpot.

Narada’s approach resembles other AI agents like Anthropic’s or Rabbit’s systems that also operate through a front end. However, the Narada assistant focuses exclusively on enterprise needs, distinguishing it from more general-purpose AI agents. While Narada doesn’t support platforms like LinkedIn or Facebook, it demonstrates solid functionality within enterprise applications, even securing an undisclosed Fortune 500 client.

While the tool is highly functional, it’s not intended to replace a real assistant but to act as a quick solution for repetitive tasks. However, using Narada requires granting extensive access to emails, calendars, and contact lists, raising privacy considerations. Narada assures users that their data won’t be used for model training, maintaining a strict stance on data security.

Narada AI has raised initial funding and is now seeking further investment to expand its capabilities, positioning itself as a promising player in enterprise AI innovation.
